57th Solo : Sin-Dme-Iah-Sin (Moscow Day #2)

it's only day #2 here in Moscow.

ahhh, can time pass faster pleaseeeeee!

went sightseeing with Aaron and Elwy.

on our way to the train station.

ahhhhh, why must it be so far from our hotel!

this is a cathedral and some fat pigeons spotted at the top.

fruit stalls along the way.

McDonald's.

local public transport.

found the metro station!
totally didn't look like one at all!

spot the 'M'. tt's the metro station.

the thing about metro stations here is that every station has a different design and Aaron brought us to 2 of the prettier stations.

this is one of them.

Komsomolskaya Metro Station.

so much effort put in to beautify this station!

at the platform.

always recognising these words/symbols coz it means 'exit'.

this is the 2nd station he brought us.

Ploshchad Revolyutsii Metro Station.

of which there are certain statues that everyone goes to touch coz it's said to bring them good luck!

being typical tourists, we went. lol.

1) the dog nose.

2) the roosters.

3) the pistol.

well, the way i hold it for photo-taking just looked so wrong!

so i changed. lol.

this is the exit of the train station.

was on our way to Red Square.

upon exiting the train station, this is what we see.

was just strolling when suddenly the pigeons just flocked towards us!

gave us quite a scare!

upon closer look, we realised someone actually threw a bread roll while walking by and that was actually what attracted the pigeons!

zomg, the smaller birds so poor thing.
kena zapped out by the big and fat pigeons.

omg, some serious snatching going on there...

ok, just wanna grab a pic with the flock.
haha, kkthxbye.

spotted these plant-animals otw.
so cute ^,^

and sand statues.

walked on further.

yay, we're nearing Red Square!

no idea what this orange building is, but it's quite nice, so we decided to take a pic before moving on. heh.

spotted #wowmoscow !

this is new!
when i came during winter, they don't have this!

well, i still dont see Amsterdam in my roster.
but this is good enough for now :'>

and finally, Red Square!

wanted to take a jump shot, but failed so terribly :(

successful ones are in Aaron's cam!

for now, make do with this :'>

they have stalls selling some local delights and snacks.

we inched closer to take a look.

free tasting of whatever they were selling!

welcome to my garden :'>

pretty plant-animals-flowers again!

:'>

Red Square was cordoned off due to some event going on.

spot the horses with the Russia flags on their backs!

wonder what was going on :o

next up, we arrived at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with the Eternal Flame.

and we were lucky coz we get to witness the changing of guards which only happens on the hour!

a clearer view of the whole place aft the crowd disperse.

i feel so sad for the guards, esp during winter!

coz they'd be freeeezing!

more infrastructures to view while walking on.

spot Krelim.

went in during my first trip to Moscow.

this is my 2nd.
no intentions to go in at all.
haha, once is enough.

moving on, spot the bed of flowers behind us!

so this is what they call, 'a bed of roses'?

pretty flowers make my day ^,^

after which, we headed to Saint Basil's Cathedral

we were alittle lost, so we followed the map, but ended up walking on the outskirt of the area.

walked a big round instead.

oh well, we saw where they kept the horses!

such pretty white horses!
now, where's the prince charming?

the 'onions' in the day.

photobomb-ed the super sweet Aaron who was doing up some sweet surprise for his wife!

the area where the performances of the event will be held.

couldn't go in.
had fences all around.
could only take a pic of it.

mayb coz there was an event going on, there were lots of booths situated along the street.

i see this everywhere!
it's like sweetened drinks.

looks interesting, but definitely not my kind of drink.

Michael went back soon after.

so the 3 of us went to have lunch.

because mummy said eating meat makes me less cold, so i ordered Caesar Salad with Chicken Fillet for lunch :'>

walking out of Red Sqaure, moving on to our next destination!

oh before that, this is the Centre of Moscow.

it's considered good luck if you were to stand in the centre, toss a coin behind you and let it fall into any of the golden quadrant.

we were just walking leisurely when these 2 dogs just caught my attention!

they, were really huge!

for that moment, i was actually alittle scared of them.
they look so fierce!

and... i'm so so glad we survived!

coz we actually jay-walked just to capture a nicer pic of the infrastructure opp us!

the road is so wide and jay-walking in Moscow and in Singapore is totally 2 different things can!
scarier to jay walk in a foreign country!

then, we headed to Christ The Saviour Cathedral.

a really pretty cathedral, i must say.

a pity they don't allow pics to be taken inside the cathedral, otherwise, i could show yall how nice it is inside!

the bridge.
somehow, i got reminded of Clark Quay. lol.

from the bridge, we got to see the back of Peter the Great Statue.

well, Elwy and I were reluctant to walk all the way there just to see the front of the statue.

we were fine that way. lol.

snacking time!

buying some nuts to snack otw :D

my sightseeing kakis --- Aaron and Elwy.

next, we made our way to Moscow University.

the road seemed too ulu.

but we saw a group of young ppl, so we assumed they were going to school and thus, followed behind them. hahaha.

then, we spotted the building from afar coz it's so big, it's so tall!

finally, found the university!

we were at the open car-park.
no idea if we were at the front or back of the university. lol.

yay! graduated ^,^

and this building is just amazing.

the further you walk away from the building, the prettier it seems!

this pic below, so pretty right!
no filter at all!

on our way back, i spotted apple trees!

zomg, that was probably the first time i'm seeing a real apple tree!

lol, the apple trees i always see are those i plant in Hayday!
now i get to see real ones!
zomg, excited! ^o^

aww~ we covered so so many places!

it's summer here in Moscow, but it's still so cold!

went back to St Basil's Cathedral later in the evening and waited for the fireworks in the night!

this is Red Square in the night.

went to the mall to have a look since the fireworks won't be anytime soon.

this is the mall.

and they actually have a watermelon fountain!

like a fountain filled with REAL WATERMELONS!

lightings in the night that makes the place looked so xmas-y!

guards on duty, preventing random people from entering the event ground.

the 'onions' in the night.

i was video-ing the whole process of the fireworks show and somehow i just decided to stop and capture some pics.

to my surprise, i was so lucky coz i actually managed to capture a few shots which i found really pretty!

1) when the fireworks booooooom!

2) and open up!

3) and slowly falling out!

so prettttty right!

i'm glad I went with them coz watching fireworks live is really so so pretty!

how i wish boyfriend was with me then! :/

oh well, today was really an eventful day.

i'm really tired.
needa sleep now.

more about Moscow on my next post!

we'll be heading to upside down house! :D
