55th Solo : Sin-Mxp-Sin (Milan Day #1)

touched down in Milan this morning.

checked in to Marriott Hotel.

weather was awesome!

just cooling, but not too cold :'>

supposed to meet the rest at 2pm(Milan time), but i actually snoozed my alarm and ended up waking at 2pm instead!

guess i was really tired...

rushed to prepare, then met them soon after.

headed out with Shafiq, JiaXin, Irma and Jtaime.

JiaXin and Irma have been to Milan, so we, the first-timers just follow.

at the train station.

the ticket to take the metro.

followed them to Duomo for shopping ^,^

as soon as we walked up the stairs to exit, we saw THE cathedral!
this is the Milan Cathedral.
so majestic right!

pictures time!

introducing Jtaime!

sun was really bright but weather was awesome, won't perspire at all!

and there were pigeons all around!
like literally.

have to watch your heads coz there were so many of them flying around and it almost felt like you'll get attacked straight in your head/face if you dont siam them fast enough!

and when walking, we have to let them pass before us coz there were just too too many of them all around!

group picture before we start shopping!

a panorama view of the shopping area and the cathedral!

entering!

and because the 'ceiling' is so high and there were like so so sooooo many pigeons flying outside, they actually had a net to prevent those pigeons from flying in.

as soon as we enter, we were greeted with Prada and LV in our faces!

that's Prada on our left.

and LV on our right.

wow wow wow, dk where to start!

walked around and decided to settle for lunch first.

had Italian food.

that's the cook and his open-kitchen where he makes the pizzas.

dined at Mozzarella Basilico.

being tourists, we were offered the English menu.

Jtaime and I decided to share a pizza.

after making our orders, we were served bread first.

we dug in, thinking it was complimentary (but it wasn't).

preparing our pizzas in his little kitchen.

here comes our pizza!

hmm... it was just so-so.

think i still prefer Dominos or Pepperoni pizza in SG :/

at the end of the meal, we settled the bill and realised the bread that they served us before our orders came, was actually chargeable!

that was like about 10euros for the mini basket of bread which doesnt taste nice at all.
so tough!

the worse thing is, it's actually more exp than the individual pizzas we ordered!

zomg, really broad daylight robbery! :(

walked around for awhile after lunch.

really cool, coz this street has all the different countries' flags hung along the sides, but sigh... don't seem to have SG leh.

went to Zara.
yes, this is the entrance of their Zara.

was blown off when I was standing at the door, looking at the deco.
why so atas!?

feels nice even before i step in!

came out and saw that the sun was setting.

made the cathedral look really pretty at that point of time.
that statue there, actually has lots of pigeons on it.
just like their gathering point. haha.

Jtaime suggested getting Gelato and taking pics in front of the cathedral coz the sun was setting and the cathedral looked really pretty.

there's my Gelato.

ordered Yoghurt and Pistacho flavours.

a must to have Gelato when in Milan!

soon after, we decided to head back coz it was already quite late, just that the sun sets later than in SG, so we lost track of time!

metro ticket back.

our station.

my company for the day!

off to McDonald's!

spotted this on the menu.

very tempted to get the mugs, but i have to buy a meal and a gelato.

well, was too full for that.
mayb i'll get it tmr!

on our way back, the bicycles for rent!

i see this in many countries, just not in SG.
well, i think we should have this is SG leh... promotes healthy lifestyle!

last stop, dropped by the supermarket just opp our hotel before going back.

spotted coke in glass bottles!
so temped to buy home, but no space anymore :/

and i have totally no idea what are these.

looks like watermelon, but they're humongous!

wanted to grab the biggest one, but it was too heavy for me!
the biggest one i saw was abt 17kg.

couldnt lift that up from the crate, so i took a smaller one instead. lol.

back to our hotel aft that.

that was my first day in Milan.

got some really great buys from Duomo.

more about my day #2 in Milan on my next post! :'>
