Taipei Day 5 - Taipei Zoo / 象山 / Tonghua Night Market

good morning Taipei!
still feeling excited ^,^
ootd for the zoo!
no eye makeup today.
my eyes felt too puffy and uncomfortable when I woke this morning, so I decided to forgo my eye makeup :(

meet my boyfriend with his signature pai kia bin.

well well, we took cab to Taipei main station for breakfast first.

oh, spotted a man with 2 really tall and huge dogs :O

settled for breakfast at Macs.

free glass cups to bring home coz we upsized our meals.

decided to try their pork burger!
erm... actually, just so so.

lovely parents ^,^
and their kiddos ^,^
nomz.

aft filling our tummies, we went out to take some pics before heading to the platform.
all ready and excited to start our day!
on our way to the zoo zoo zoo~

tired us coz we woke quite early in the morning.

and boyfriend found a seat for himself. lol.

meimei :'>
on the train to the zooooooooooooo~

contacting Darren and his girlfriend coz they were in Taipei too!
the girls :D
everyone ^,^
teehee, I found this to be too hilarious when u scroll and see 3 pics continuously coz boyfriend doesn't move.

HAHAHA, the expression.

and finally, we arrived at Taipei Zoo!

aww~ missing the time when I was here with the poly mates!

bought tickets!
first animal we see --- Flamingo.

moving on to Koala Bears!

meet Nicole.

aww~ missing fei zai when we saw this!

then we smelled the camel shit and true enough, hello skinny camel.

trying a selfie with it.

ignored us, totally :(

then we saw a huge buffalo.

with its floating shit.
damn huge. eewwww~
and we saw the actual animal whom we love its meat for --- Black Pigs.
so poor thing, this one looked so skinny :/
literally skin-wrap-bones (pi bao gu).
moving on to quack quack ducks!

during the trip, we also had fun spotting English mistakes.
like this one.
meeting the pandas!
yoz.

they literally eat-and-sleep.

a panda made of lego blocks!
cheeky daddy :D

we all had a good laugh.

group pic!

it was so damn hot.

meet the giraffes thereafter.

when we decided to take selfie wit it, it walked back to its home.
but we still tried nevertheless.
then it started to pour and we had to seek shelter.
luckily it was only for a short while.

decided to stop by and buy some ice cream in this super hot weather.
meet Darren and his girlfriend, Yiru :D :D
all happy with their ice-cream!

I wasn't interested in ice-cream.

I was more interested in their mantou!

with condensed milk!
so yumz!

never regret my choice!

spotted some real hippos on our way.
they look like gun bullets. lol.

next up --- white rhino.

they look fierce.

elephant with its long trunk and big ears.
omg, childhood memories.

forgot what is this called but it looks quite pretty.
the designs on its body and its colour.

elated when I spotted our number overseas, but this time, with you around w me ^,^

gorilla~

its size.

only one, but it feels very human!

esp its face.
look into his eyes, it's as if he has a story to tell.

and it feels like he knows that we are taking pics of him.
he posed and posed and posed.

stealing a selfie with it before I was shoo-ed away by the other tourists around :/

looking at it from afar.
moving on to monkey land.

their playground.

trying to strike a conversation.
the humans and the monkey.

weather's so hot.
constantly needing a drink to hydrate ourselves.
so thankful for their vending machines located almost everywhere.

my daddy was obviously dead beat. lol.
spotted little grasshopper on the road.

stopped by for toilet breaks.

while waiting, a selfie with mummy ^,^

aww~ this lovely pair reminded me of the movie, 'Happy Feet'.

entering the world of birds.

"excuse me, peacock's coming through."
lol.

daddy became his friend.

we were actually quite afraid that the birds may decide to poop/pee in the midst of flying.

better to have our caps on. lol.

spotted more flamingos in there.

and we were the last group to be out coz the zoo was about to close.

that marks the end of our visit to the zoo!

took a cab to our next supposed destination, but the cab driver didn't understand and brought us to the mrt station instead .-.
and so... we had to ask the locals and start walking to our supposed destination.
yes, but foot.

aft close to half an hr of walking, we reached the foot of the hill.

we had no idea how long the walk was gonna be and how many flight of stairs we have to climb, but we just went ahead!

first flight of stairs.
irritated benben at the foot of the long flight of stairs. lol.
climbing up the stairs in the hot hot weather is no joke.

climbed up the first few flights with some of us panting and perspiring like mad, we managed to catch a glimpse of Taipei 101 from afar.

parents told us to move on first and since this is our first pit stop, we decided to take a pic!

your 1st overseas trip with my family!
he tried a selfie, but obviously, failed.

my turn!
ok, a wee bit better. lol.
with the sister!

shortly after, the parents came!
now, a group selfie!

we haven't reached the top, so we have to walk on!

parents must be so tired!
probably the most tedious day of their life!

and later on, the steps became steeper and hence, benben became mummy's support. lol.

next pit stop.

this time, the sun was about to set!

parents decided to sit there and wait for us coz they were really tired and we have no idea how long we still had to walk to reach the top!
handed one of our phones to them so they can still contact us.
the rest of us, moved on!
took a rest at another pit stop, started whacking mosquitos coz they were attacking our legs and arms.

view from our pitstop.

let's go!

we hiked and hiked and hiked and finally, we saw a group of people with really professional cameras and tripod stands.

we guessed that was it.

so we occupied a space and waited patiently just like the rest, for the sun to set.
the view from above.

we made it up there!

and when the sun starts to set!

the orangey egg yolk.

capturing the moments!

admire the transition.

nature.

when night comes and the lights of the buildings slowly coming on.

tadah.

pics time before heading back down to be reunited with the parents.

pardon our oily and sticky faces and bad hair coz it was so damn hot and mosquitos were literally having buffet, sucking our bloods.
it was a tedious hike up, but the view, breath-taking.

met the parents, then made our way down carefully with the lights from our phones coz there were no street lights on our way down!

I was tired and hehe, boyfriend offered to meh me!

aww~ so loved! hehehehehehe ^,^
I was alittle surprised.
his skinny legs can take my weight. hahaha!

all the walking made us hungry.
took a cab to Tong Hua Night Market.
because we went in 2 cabs, our cab reached earlier and we went to explore the area alittle.
zomg, doggies so cute!
everything that oozes out looks good.
bought 2 to try :D
churros too!

then there came policemen with their bikes.

and the carts have to be pushed outside.
the boys followed the auntie as she pushed her cart out coz they wanna get the winter melon drink.
at the same time, asking her why they had to push out their carts. lol.
Darren bought tako balls to share!

made us crave for jap food.
so there we went for dinner!

boyfriend goes everywhere and try beer.
their salmon sashimi, so yummy!
thick slices, fresh and yummy!

cooked food to share.
all the goodness in a bowl.

aft dinner, it's back to more street food!

we can't give up shan zhu rou!

his fav.

teehee, and that marks the end of our 5th day here.
back in our apartment, check out my new toys.
all of which, boyfriend won them for me!
heeheehee ^,^
