very glad they gave me offdays before my leave coz it's like an extension of my leave period.
off days + annual leave = shiok.
so we made an impromptu decision to go Bangkok since mummy was on leave during that period as well.
we uber-ed our way to the airport.
flew by AirAsia.
breakfast before taking our budget flight. lol.

took about a 2 hrs nap onboard, touching down in the aftnoon.

touched down at Don Muang Airport this time.
our first times arriving at this airport.
walked out of the airport and we can alr feel the 'warmth'.
so hot!
we took a cab to The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam.
this is the lobby.
proceeded to check in.
upon reaching our room, first thing the parents do is to adjust the temp of the aircon.
lol if it's me, I probably will just leave it or make it warmer. lol.
I was away for work and meimei did the booking for us. (hehe, thanks meimei!)
apparently, she made adjustments and changed my queen bed to single and upgraded the parents' queen bed to king .-.
oh well, but I was fine.
happy can alr :D :D :D

made use of the wifi in the hotel, charged our electronic devices, and we're ready to head out!
it's a free and easy trip and daddy wanted to visit Erawan Shrine.
since it's walking dist from our hotel, we made our way there.
midway, we decided to walk into Big C shopping mall to grab a small bite coz we were afraid mum's stomach would act up.
she didn't really wanna try street food, so we settled for Auntie Anne's.
everything to share!
and almost everything that ooze out taste good! lol.
aft filling out tummies, we walked on.
about close to 10 mins, we've arrived at our destination.
Erawan Shrine - checked.
went to pray for everyone.

ok, so aft praying, we went on to search for mummy's Melissa shoes in the day coz that's one of her main purpose in going to BKK.
traffic situation in BKK in the aftnoon.
walked over to Central World.
greeted by elephants upon entering the mall.
not sure what event they were having but this setup was pretty~
asked the info counter, walked alittle and we found Jelly Dreams!
it's where they sell Melissa shoes.
wel... but none caught mummy's eye.
so she didn't get any in the end.
stopped by to have pics taken coz we find them too cute!

but because we were searching for daddy's Teochew Porridge Restaurant (recommended by his friend) for dinner, we decided to take cab no matter.
tried so hard to find the must-go Teochew Porridge Restaurant recommended by daddy's friend.
got on a cab to bring us there, but got scammed by the taxi driver instead.
he told us the restaurant tt we wanted to go was closed for renovation, so he brought us to similar restaurant instead --- Somboon Dee Seafood Restaurant.
arrived and felt something was wrong, coz it's so ulu and there was no crowd at all.
plus, they don't have what we wanted to try.
well, but since we were alr there, we just settled for dinner.
a little more exp dinner in the night.
the taxi driver who scammed us actually waited for us to finish our dinner and offered to pick us again but nope, we're not gonna fall for it again.
walked out on our own and flagged another taxi elsewhere to bring us back to our hotel.
approaching which, we went out to take a look at the 'pasar malam' just below our hotel.
not only clothes and bags, but they have street food too!
then I spotted the yummy fish that parents haven't got the chance to try despite their past visits to BKK, so this time, MUST TRY!
we were walking happily until we see them packing up coz they say rain is coming!
and true enough, mins later, it rained.
mummy stood under the shelter just outside our hotel while daddy and I went to dabao some food and drinks up :)
and so... all these became supper for the night.
gonna turn in and prepare ourselves for day 2 tmr! ^,^
