BKK with the folks - Day 3

greetings from BKK!

day 3 here.

again, we're down for our daily breakfast!

went Platinum Mall again to shop abit, then took the chance to have our must-have : Mango Sticky Rice!

then walked towards Central World, and daddy prayed again.

a little donation done.

heading to MBK via train, their BTS(our MRT).

while making our way to the train station, we spotted Erawan Shrine from the overhead bridge.

nearest station to our hotel was Chit Lom Station.

they printed the BTS map behind.
convenient.

while waiting for the train.

coz it's our first times taking their BTS, so it calls for more pics taken!

here comes the train!

and just a couple of stops away and we've arrived at National Stadium.

followed the signs and walked to MBK.
so convenient coz it's all linked!

the shop that mummy always buy her durian chips from.

we bought so much!
got them to pack into boxes for us, then off we went to find the Teochew Porridge Restaurant tt daddy's friend recommended.

this time, we got on a tuk-tuk!
our first times on the tuk-tuk!

journey was too short to snap anymore nice pics.
only got the driver to snap a shot for us when we reached our destination.

and yes, we dragged the 2 big boxes with us everywhere we go due to time constraint and traffic conditions in BKK.

well, all I can say about my experience on a tuk-tuk is that it's like... ...a roller-coaster ride.

this time, address is right, name of restaurant (Somboon Restaurant) is right.

and aft some confusion, we finally found the restaurant that daddy friend recommended --- Somboon Chinese Restaurant.

yes, only the CHINESE restaurant has the teochew porridge set that we were told to order.

and so, chinese setting of course.

his friend said it's a must to order the suckling pig and so, we ordered one.

omg so poor thing :(

fried its meat.

and they plate their skin nicely on a plate, with its tail too.
omg so sad :(

and this is our Teochew Porridge set for 3.
the set comes with omelette, lup cheong, minced pork, veg and of course, the porridge.

in addition, we ordered the suckling pig.

and we were like the VIP in the restaurant coz it's so empty :/

this is the restaurant, if any of you are interested.
but honestly, I won't go back again.

after dinner, we took a cab to Asiatique!

our first times there!

there's a taxi stand with a counter where they will flag a cab for you.
but you'll have to pay them.

anw, we walked in to explore.

seeing the kids in BKK just reminds me about how fortunate we are in Singapore.

at such young age, they have to perform to earn some money.

same for these kids.

the really huge ferris wheel then caught our eye from afar!

we knew we had to go closer for pics!

it's so pretty when you see it up-front.

esp with the lighting in the night.

a group pic before we go.

I totally will miss the 100bahts shouting out to me from the various stores!

and their dogs are so tamed!
no need for leash coz they won't run away.

explored further.

spotted the free ferry ride.

parents needed a rest.
yes, that was our 2 huge boxes.

really, Asiatique's like our Clarke Quay.

and just when we were about to leave Asiatique, we saw a booth that sells Coconut Ice-Cream and it's another must-try on our list this trip!

since we manage to see it, we decided to just get it and strike Coconut Ice-Cream off our list.

yummy!
