greetings from Bangkok!
heading down for our daily hotel breakfast!
breakfast time!
coz it's buffet style, we had a few more rounds.
daddy's plates are filled with BREAD!
mummy says benben will like the bacons. haha.
aft breakfast, we made our way to the place that sells mangoes.
also, recommended by daddy's friend.
oh yes. before that, this is the entrance of our hotel and there's a big pic of their King.
so cool, they have such high respect for him.
took a cab and luckily this cab driver's quite honest.
brought us straight to our destination (Marketing Organisation for Farmers), by meter.
with a map on hand, we ended up at a wet & dry market.
I guess, this happens when travelling with the folks. hahaha.
explored the market alittle and finally managed to find the particular stall that daddy's friend recommended.
this is the one : Somsri Mango.
they sell the mango by weight.
and of course, we bought quite a bit.
got them to pack the mangoes in boxes for us.
made payment and deposited our mangoes there while we explore the other parts of the market.
some stalls selling dried fruits.
and those pink eggs totally caught my attention :O
then they also sell cooked food.
and this is their cai-fan section.
the spread is like WOAH.
of which, you'll also see buckets of curry/tom yum.
red curry, green curry, yellow curry... you name it, they probably will have it!
then we saw someone bbq-ing bananas on stick.
since it was only 5 baht, we bought to try!
ONLY 5 BAHT!
good dessert, I would say.
then there's crustaceans.
didn't get those as dad's allergic to seafood and I'm not really a fan of crabs and all.
moved on to this little shop here.
we headed in coz it's air-conditioned. hahaha.
was looking for this all the while!
good to share!
I regret not dabao-ing home!
it taste like ang ku kueh, but with sweetened outer skin.
I was reading blog reviews abt must-try food and drinks in BKK and came across one of the blog posts that recommended the Butterfly drink.
yes, I was curious and I so happen to see it there!
they have a wide range to choose from, but I was only interested in the Butterfly drink.
and so, I chose the Butterfly Pea & Blueberry drink.
not too bad, able to quench thirst.
taste alittle like grape drink.
we saw some newspaper cuttings on the frame of the stall and decided to get some sticks to try.
their kind of 'satay'.
hmm... not very fantastic coz the meat is so tough :/
not recommended.
martin's mum wanted us to get pure honey if we happen to see it.
was asking around and this lady kindly showed us to this shop, Royal Project Shop, that sells.
hmm... it sells mainly organic products I guess.
and we weren't sure if it's the same brand that she was looking for, but we bought it nevertheless.
pure honey!
welcome to Thailand~
smelled pineapples from afar.
I don't take, but bought a small packet of cut pineapples for the parents coz it smelled good and fruits here are usually sweet :D
damage done.
going back to the stall that sells mangoes to collect our mangoes.
2 boxes.
cabbed back to hotel to deposit the mangoes and our buys, then walked over to Platinum Mall to shop!
the traffic condition by evening :O
the area outside Platinum Mall has changed since the last time I visited.
they have little stalls by the road instead of the 'pasar malam' in the night.
this shop, too cool.
but be very mindful of cars that passes by while you dine or shop coz they don't close the roads!
not to miss Mr McDonald's from BKK.
sawadee ka ^,^
made our way to Central World for dinner after shopping.
and during this period, they seem to be having some event.
coz they have different beer brands set up!
#1 - Chang
#2 - Singha
took some pics haha.
bartender for the night.
a barrels of Singha.
cheers!
#3 - Heineken
seems like they're setting up something big.
there's a stage for live band!
bring me a can of Heineken now.
brought the folks for dinner at MK Restaurant coz this is what mummy always wanted to try.
since it's from BKK, all the more we should try it here uh!
and they have a promo going on now... so yay!
we get to choose the cooked meat.
we chose a mixture of 3.
then we ordered the seafood set for steamboat!
daddy could only ate abit, but he said it's fine :D
oh yes, and we could also choose 1 dimsum.
of which, we choose the custard buns.
plus 2 drinks.
such a good deal for dinner tonight :D
we were so full from dinner, but we spotted After You Café.
that's where mummy wanted to try their dessert too.
so there we went.
only ordered their signature Shibuya Honey Toast to share coz we were too full!
finally tried!
dig in!
we were too full, esp aft eating the toast.
so we decided to explore the mall.
say hello to Mr Groot.
then we slowly walked back to the hotel and cont'd our shopping at the Night Market just below our hotel.
yup, did a little shopping and ended our night at the 'pasar malam' here :D :D :D
